Special Olympics is a worldwide sports movement dedicated to igniting the human spirit through the transformative and joyful power of sport. By offering programs in sports, health, education, and community engagement, Special Olympics addresses the challenges of inactivity, stigma, isolation, and inequity faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID). Our mission extends beyond organizing sports events, fostering social change and promoting inclusive participation for those with ID.

Special Olympics is committed to providing top-notch training and competition within an inclusive environment through Unified Sports, where individuals with and without intellectual disabilities compete together. We offer over 30 Olympic-style sports, catering to athletes from ages 2 to 99, ensuring meaningful training and competitive experiences. Our approach is underpinned by comprehensive Sport Rules and strengthened through collaborations with International Sport Federations. Additionally, our Unified Schools initiative promotes social inclusion, while our Young Athletes program nurtures fundamental skills from a young age.
